Rev. Dr. Oladele Olusola Kolade : A honour well deserved for an illustrious son
By Bode Durojaiye, the Director of Media and Publicity to the late Alaafin of Oyo.
Most ancient Philosophers once postulated that ” our mindset is about what you see, think, and believe. … It is the internal lens through which you see and navigate life. Mindset influences everything you see, as well as everything you do”.
Mindset is who you really are at your core. It’s your habitual way of thinking.
While it’s not easy to change, the purpose of life is to evolve and become better a human being.
So, it is imperative for one to think about these human qualities from time to time and always endeavour to do better.
However, for Reverend Dr. Oladele Olusola Kolade, his mindset is what really differentiates him from his peers. He works hard at developing what, Jo Wong, likes to call ‘ your human qualities,’ by setting for himself success in work and in life.
As a Minister of God with deep empathy, his ability to understand and share the feelings of another is uncommon.
This empathy enables you to understand other people’s motivations, needs, and emotions more deeply and is using that understanding to improve socio economic lives of his people.

Rev. Dr. Kolade accurately perceives people’s needs—without his own lens introducing any distortions or occlusions.
He looks at things from different people’s perspectives and internalizes what he sees.
Rev. Dr. Kolade opens his heart to the people and put their needs before his own. That he will be fully with them in the moment.
He looks deeply into his people’s eyes and really sees them for who they are. He is open to many different types of people from many different cultures. But he does not connect with people when he is feeling worried, defensive, angry, frightened, or ashamed.
He stands in people’s shoes, feeling with his heart, seeing with his eyes.
According to him, ” if there is any one secret of success, it lies in the ability to get the other person’s point of view and see things from that person’s angle, as well as from your own”.
What about Rev. Dr. Oladele’s ability to understand something immediately, without the need for conscious reasoning.
This intuition is being open to the mysterious workings of his mind—seeing what is or what might be clearly in his mind’s eye.
This helps him greatly in decision making, as he relies on intuition when he must make decisions and take action on issues very quickly, the problem or the solution is ambiguous, or there’s no precedent to follow.
To Rev. Dr. Kolade , ” the intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.
“You have to trust in something—your gut, destiny, or life, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.
“Sometimes making a decision is hard, not because it is unpopular, but because it comes from your gut. You’ve seen something so many times you just know what’s going on this time. The facts may be incomplete or the data limited, but the situation feels very, very familiar to you. With God , everything is possible “.
Rev. Dr. Kolade went further, ” the best moments usually occur when a person’s body or mind is stretched to its limits in a voluntary effort to accomplish something difficult and worthwhile. Optimal experience is thus something we make happen.
” [Flow is] a state in which people are so involved in an activity that nothing else seems to matter; the experience is so enjoyable that people will continue to do it even at great cost, for the sheer sake of doing it. … [Flow lets people] achieve a joyous, self-forgetful involvement through concentration, which in turn is made possible by a discipline of the body and divine intervention ”
Rev. Dr. Kolade is able to reach his goals because he cares a lot about what he is doing, which is passion.
Being passionate has bee helping him to push through the more difficult moments. While he truly feels that what he is doing doing is necessary and/or deeply meaningful.
The latest in the orgies of unprecedented service to humanity by Rev. Dr. Kolade was the construction of a Primary School at Aguo community in the Oyo East Local government area of Oyo State.
Thus project was financed by Rev. Kolade and donated to the serene community to further improve educational standard of children in the community .
Rev. Dr. Kolade’s other sterling traits include, optimism, persistence and creativity,
From the arts to the sciences, those who have a capacity to think originally have a greater chance of success.
When faced with an obstacle to his goal, Rev. Dr. Kolade , doesn’t just go through a checklist of ways to solve the problem, but tries to think of the problem—and its possible solutions from God—in a way few, if any, ever have.
Everyone procrastinates. And everyone has a vice or two, however minor.
But as a continually successful personality, Rev. Dr. Oladele will never let distractions overtake him. Instead, he has the self discipline to force himself to keep at it, even when he feels the urge to do something less important.
Another important thing to note about Rev. Dr. Kolade is his desire to Improve.
He doesn’t consider himself to be perfect. Even if he has great confidence in his ability, he still work to improve, identifying where he has weaknesses and doing what he needs to do to strengthen himself
Another noticeable characteristic about Rev. Dr. Kolade is his unflinching commitment to Learning.
One thing noticeable when talking to highly successful and remarkable persons is that they often have an amazingly detailed knowledge of their field.
And many have an incredible knowledge of other fields as well. That’s because a good portion of success is understanding the ins and outs of what you’re trying to do, and the world at large.
Little wonder when last Saturday at an event Centre located at Omo Oba area ,invited and distinguished eminent personalities , including traditional rules gathered at the epoch making and colourful ceremony, organized by the Oyo Global Forum ( OGF) to honour an illustrious son , Rev. Dr. Oladele Olusola Kolade with a prestigious Award for Excellent community development service and humanity.
