The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, emphasized the importance of divine wisdom and guidance in leadership during a visit to the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Abimbola Owoade I, on Wednesday, June 11, 2025. He noted that leaders who rely on God’s direction consistently triumph in fulfilling their mission and vision.
Pastor Adeboye commended the Alaafin, describing him as a “divinely ordained Paramount Ruler and Head of Yorubaland” whose actions reflect God’s guidance. “Your Imperial Majesty, I have closely followed your efforts, and I can attest that you are a peace-loving, progressive, and committed royal father dedicated to the unity, stability, and development of Yorubaland and Nigeria as a whole,” he said. He added, “When a leader’s heart is filled with God’s love, they delight in prayer and find joy in it. Divine guidance ensures peace and the ability to overcome all obstacles.”
The renowned minister prayed for the Alaafin and his family, asking God to lead the monarch through his challenging responsibilities, grant him supernatural strength, and ensure continued success in his endeavors.

In response, Oba Akeem Abimbola Owoade I hailed Pastor Adeboye as a faithful minister who delivers God’s truth plainly and accessibly, avoiding obscure or crude expressions. Recalling a crusade led by Pastor Adeboye in Ibadan before his ascension, the Alaafin shared how he sat at the back, where Adeboye prayed for those in the rear to be recognized and elevated. “That prayer has manifested today as I serve as the 46th Alaafin of Oyo,” he said.
The monarch urged collaboration between traditional rulers and religious leaders to foster cohesion, peace, and national development, despite their distinct roles. He praised Adeboye’s devotion to God’s service and his genuine concern for the spiritual welfare of his followers. “On behalf of myself, my family, and the people of Oyo and its environs, we deeply appreciate the honor and respect you have shown the institution of the Alaafin despite your busy schedule. We wish you and your entourage safe travels,” Oba Owoade concluded.
