Alaafin’s wife calls for  collective  efforts in empowering youths as leaders, change-makers of tomorrow

Wife of the Alaafin of Oyo, Ayaba Abiwunmi Owoade, has stressed the need  for youths to be provided with environments where they feel valued, listened to, and capable of making meaningful contributions, so that they can foster a sense of freedom within themselves that can propel them toward success.

Ayaba Owoade stated this  today while flagging off a two month empowerment programme on skills acquisition held at the Palace  in Oyo town.

The programme which was initiated and being sponsored by Princess Titilayo Tejuoso in honour of His Imperial Majesty’. Iku Baba Yeye, Oba Engineer Akeem Abimbola Owoade 1, has about 3,000 youths, both male and female, as participants.
They are to receive trainings in ten vocations.

Ayaba Owoade said youths possess boundless energy, creativity, and the potential to shape the world in ways we can only imagine, adding that ouths empowerment involves providing them with the tools, resources, and opportunities they need to develop their skills, gain self-confidence, make informed decisions, and actively participate in the social, economic, and political spheres of their communities .

According to her. “” empowering youths also helps bridge the generational divide that often exists in society. By valuing the perspectives and contributions of young people, we create a more inclusive and harmonious society. Interactions between generations which  can lead to mutual understanding and collaboration, allowing the transfer of wisdom and experience from older generations to younger ones, while fresh ideas and perspectives flow in the opposite direction.

“”Youths empowerment plays a crucial role in economic growth and sustainability. When young people have access to vocational training, and entrepreneurial opportunities, they become active contributors to the workforce and the economy. A skilled and empowered youth population can drive innovation, boost productivity, and lead to a more prosperous society””.

She stressed the need to recognize the immense potential within  the youths and work collectively to empower them to be the leaders and change-makers of tomorrow.

Ayaba Owoade therefore urged participants for the programme to be punctual and dedicated to the trainings for their future benefits.
