The Federal Government has launched the Nigeria Jubilee Fellows Programme (NJFP) 2.0, designed to create 20,000 jobs annually in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda to empower young Nigerians and boost employment opportunities.
Vice President Kashim Shettima inaugurated the Project Steering Committee ahead of the official launch, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to youth empowerment, job creation, and inclusive economic growth.
The NJFP is being implemented in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and funded by the European Union (EU). The initiative seeks to bridge the gap between learning and earning by providing young Nigerians with real work placements, mentorship, and professional training.
According to the Vice President, over 14,000 fellows benefited from the first phase, which offered 12-month paid fellowships across different sectors.
In its new phase, NJFP 2.0 plans to deploy 24,000 fellows over the next 10 months across key sectors such as agriculture, digital technology, renewable energy, manufacturing, and the creative industries.
Through this renewed effort, the Federal Government aims to equip Nigerian youth with relevant skills, industry exposure, and opportunities that support long-term career development.
