The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Abimbola Owoade I, has reaffirmed his commitment to advancing the welfare and prosperity of his kingdom and the Yoruba race. In a heartfelt letter of appreciation, the monarch extended his gratitude to all who contributed to the success of his recent coronation ceremony, describing it as a vibrant celebration of Yoruba culture and heritage.

According to a statement from the Director of Media and Publicity to the Alaafin, Bode Durojaiye, Oba Owoade expressed profound gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, members of the Federal Executive Council, and the government and people of Oyo State, led by His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, for their unwavering support and goodwill. The Paramount Ruler also acknowledged the presence of traditional rulers, dignitaries, and esteemed guests who graced the historic occasion.



Oba Owoade extended special appreciation to the Yoruba community in the diaspora for their love and solidarity, as well as his subjects, volunteers, and members of the local organizing committee for their tireless efforts. “Your presence, support, and goodwill messages have deeply touched my heart and filled me with joy. They have also showcased the richness of our cultural heritage and our commitment to preserving the legacy of our ancestors,” the Alaafin stated.

He further noted, “As our forebears would say, a single tree does not make a forest. The coronation ceremony was a resounding success because of your collective contributions. It was a celebration of our rich Yoruba culture and heritage, and a testament to the enduring bond between our kingdom and the global community.”

As he embarks on his reign, Oba Owoade pledged to prioritize the progress and unity of the Oyo Kingdom and the Yoruba race. “I look forward to your continued support and partnership in this journey,” he affirmed.
